High Performance Product Engineering
First Wheel was founded in 2020 with two objectives:
- To provide excellent engineering and product development service to clients
- To combine sporting and academic passions in the development of high-performance sports equipment.
Daniel Barry - Founder & Director
Daniel is a Professional Mechanical Engineer and an accomplished athlete. His sporting background is in road cycling, and it was a love of speed and high-performance equipment that steered his academic interests towards mechanical engineering.
Over the years, Daniel has competed in races across New Zealand, Australia, USA, UK, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. And while racing has always been a part of life, engineering and design are arguably an even greater passion for him.
More recently, racing has been bumped down the priority list while the focus has been on doing high quality work for First Wheel’s clients, designing and manufacturing new products and spending time with his young family.
